Favorite Picture Books

Below is a list of my favorite picture books!

Cock-a-Moo-Moo by Juliet Dallas-Conte

Cock-a-moo-moo

I've used this book in storytime and for school outreach. It's always a hit! The kids love all of the silly animal noises. It also teaches a nice lesson, like many picture books. I always have the kids crow like the rooster at the end.

One Little Blueberry by Terri Salzano

I've used this book in many storytimes. It's great for toddlers and preschoolers. It's a counting book that teaches readers about different insects. The pictures are super adorable!

Old Bear by Kevin Henkes

Old Bear

This is a wonderful book! A sweet story about an old bear dreaming of his days as a cub. The illustrations beautifully detail the colors and experiences of each season.

The Three Little Pigs and the Somewhat Bad Wolf by Mark Teague

The three little pigs and the somewhat bad wolf

A hilarious twist on a classic story! I've used this book in storytimes for children ages 4 to 7 and for school outreach.

The Hermit Crab by Carter Goodrich

The hermit crab

I absolutely love this story and pretty much any book by Carter Goodrich! It's a wonderful tale about an unlikely hero. This is a great read for older kids.

Little Pea by Amy Krouse Rosenthal

 Little Pea

Little Pea does not like his sweet dinner! He's more interested in his healthy dessert. This is an adorable story with a nice message; healthy food IS delicious. I recommend this book for children ages 3 to 6.
